NYLON DAY BAG
デザイナーとして出張する機会が増えるにつれ、普段使っているデイバッグだけでは荷物が収まらず、もうひとつバッグを持つことが多くなりました。移動のたびに、持ち物が二つに分かれていく。そんな小さな不便を感じていたある日に日常ではデイバッグとして使え、そのまま出張や旅行にも持ち出せる、大きなデイバッグをつくろうと、ふと思いました。
NYLON DAY BAGは、そんなデザイナー自身の移動の経験から生まれました。
容量は約31L。PC、財布、ポーチ、ボトル、上着に加えて、1〜2泊分の着替えまで入れることができます。
日常の荷物も、短い旅の荷物も、ひとつにまとめられる大きなサイズです。
仕事へ向かう朝と少し遠くへ出かける日。その二つの時間を、ひとつのバッグでつなげるデザインから考え始めました。
H46.5 × W40 × D17cm。数字見るとわかり辛いですが、一般的なデイバッグよりも全てが大きく、軽い旅に必要なものまで収められるサイズです。
背負ったときには収まりがよく、普段の服装から大きく離れない。容量を確保することと、日常に収まること。その両方が成り立つシルエットバランスを探りました。
内側にはPCスリーブを設けています。またバッグをおいた時のPCの底打ち対策としてクッション性のあるPCスリーブの底には生地を2重にしています。
サイドポケットには、移動の途中で手に取ることの多いボトルや小物を。必要なものの場所が自然に決まり、仕事の日から短い旅行まで、荷物をひとつにまとめられます。
表地に選んだのは、撥水加工を施した強度の高いナイロン。雨の日も荷物の多い日にも、気兼ねなく使えること。
身体に触れる背面の一部にはレザーを使用し長く使うための耐久性も配慮しました。日常の移動から、旅先で過ごす時間までを長い時間支える素材の組み合わせです。

A morning commute and a short trip that begins straight after work. We started by considering how those two moments could be connected by a single bag. Its approximate 31L capacity holds a laptop, wallet, pouch, bottle and outer layer, with room for clothes for one or two nights. Even when you need to carry more, there is no need to switch bags or add another one.
Between capacity and presence.
Measuring H46.5 × W40 × D17cm, it is larger than a typical daypack and has room for what a short trip requires. Yet when worn, it sits neatly against the body and remains in balance with everyday clothing. We looked for a proportion in which generous capacity and an everyday silhouette could exist together.
A place for each thing.
An interior laptop sleeve keeps a computer separate from the rest of the contents. The side pockets hold a bottle or smaller items often reached for while moving. With a natural place for what you carry, everything can remain in one bag, from workdays to short trips.
Materials made for daily use.
The outer fabric is a high-strength nylon with a water-repellent finish—chosen to be used without hesitation through changing weather and heavier loads. Leather is placed on the back panel, where the bag rests against the body, balancing a refined feel with durability for long-term use. Together, the materials are suited to everyday movement and time spent away from home.
Please note that the water-repellent finish is not fully waterproof. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain.
